Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Online Qur’an Teacher to lead and support our Hifz programme at our Islamic primary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Qur’an recitation (with Tajweed), memorisation, and revision in a structured and engaging online environment.
This role is ideal for a passionate educator who is committed to nurturing a love for the Qur’an while supporting students in their memorisation journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Qur’an recitation with proper Tajweed to primary-aged students
- Lead and manage a structured Hifz (memorisation) programme
- Support students in memorisation, revision (Muraja’ah), and retention techniques
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback
- Create a positive, encouraging, and disciplined online learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different abilities and learning paces
- Use online platforms (e.g. Zoom) effectively to deliver engaging lessons
- Track and maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
- Communicate with parents regarding student development and targets
- Uphold safeguarding, online safety, and school policies
Requirements & Skills
- Must be a Hafiz / Hafiza of the Qur’an
- Strong knowledge of Tajweed rules and correct pronunciation (Makharij)
- Experience teaching Qur’an and Hifz to children (preferably online)
- Confident using Zoom or similar online teaching tools
- Ability to motivate and support young learners with patience and consistency
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good standard of spoken English
Desirable
- Previous experience leading a Hifz programme
- Experience teaching in an online Islamic school setting
- Understanding of working with primary-aged children (KS1/KS2)
- Ability to incorporate Islamic manners (Akhlaq) into teaching
